The Minister revealed that the Chief Minister had approved the allocation of Rs 102 crore to complete the TIDCO houses, which had remained Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) due to delays. These houses were sanctioned between 2014 and 2019 by the central government but had been delayed due to various issues. In total, 7,01,481 houses were approved, of which permissions for 5 lakh were granted, and 4,54,706 houses were grounded. By 2019, the construction of 3,13,832 houses had begun.
Narayana also explained that the central and state governments had decided to allocate Rs 3.90 lakh for each unit, with Rs 1.90 lakh from the central government and the remainder from the state government. However, the previous government created confusion, and out of the 4,54,706 houses, only 2,61,640 houses were initiated, with the rest being cancelled. The current government has taken steps to complete approximately 77,000 unfinished houses. Rs 102 crore will be spent to resolve the issue and complete these houses by June 12 next year.
The Minister also revealed that the CRDA had approved the construction of roads in Amaravati Zones 7 and 10, with an allocation of Rs 2,723 crore. So far, the government has sanctioned works worth Rs 47,288 crore for the development of Amaravati. Approvals for other development works will be granted by the end of December, with tenders to be called by mid-January to commence the projects.
Narayana assured that no financial burden would be placed on the public for Amaravati’s development. Funds for these projects would be repaid through the sale of land acquired via pooling from farmers, and no loans would be diverted to cover development costs. The development of Amaravati is expected to be completed in three years, he said.

During the meeting, the Minister highlighted the state government’s planned approach to ensure balanced development across all 26 districts of Andhra Pradesh. He mentioned the allocation of several central institutions to districts, such as the Tribal University for Vizianagaram, IIM for Visakhapatnam, and IIT for Tirupati. The government is also focusing on establishing industrial hubs, including a drone hub in Kurnool and manufacturing units in Rayalaseema.

The Minister further stated that the government is working on the development of ports and satellite cities through land pooling, similar to the Amaravati model, in various locations. In Visakhapatnam, efforts are underway to bring back major companies such as TCS and Google, and in Kurnool, a drone hub is being set up on 350 acres.
