1 crore plantings on Independence Day

Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari said that the closing ceremony of Indian independence’s 75th anniversary will be held grandly. As per instructions of the Chief Minister, the CS held a meeting with high level officials on Friday regarding this.

Speaking on the occasion, the CS said that the Chief Minister has ordered that the closing ceremony of independent India’s 75 years should be held in a grand manner across the state. Public representatives, youth, students and people from different fields will attend the closing ceremony.

She said that the dates of the closing ceremonies will be finalised by the Chief Minister soon.

The government has set a target to plant one crore saplings under the Bharat Vajrotsava Plantation scheme. The government will also distribute one crore 15 lakh national flags and will screen the movie, ‘Gandhi,’ in all state cinema halls.

He said that all government offices, historical buildings and junctions in the state will be decorated with lights during the closing ceremony.She said that essay writing and painting competitions will be organised in educational institutions on India’s 75 years of independence.

The CS said that 5K and 2K metre runs will also be organised. A photo exhibition will be held in Hyderabad on the freedom struggle and the Telangana State Formation Movement. A ‘Swatantra Bheri’ will be organised in all schools to show the spirit of Indian independence.

The CS clarified that the Chief Minister will finalise details regarding the management of these programmes.

State Government Adviser KV Ramanachari along with PCCF Dobrial, GAD Secretary Seshadri, Culture and Youth Services Department Secretary Sailaja Ramayar, Finance Department Secretary Sridevi, Handlooms Department Commissioner Buddha Prakash, Information Department Special Secretary Ashok Reddy, Panchayat Raj Commissioner Hanumantha Rao, AYUSH Commissioner Hari Chandana, Director of Culture Department Harikrishna and others attended the meeting.
