11,985 women receive meals in ICDS centres

An RTI revealed that in total budget of Rs 73,60,968 for women helpline Central scheme, Rs 36,26,000 has been the expenditure in Hyderabad. In Integrated Child Development Services, pregnant and lactating women who received meals are 11,985.

 City-Based Kareem Ansari questioned about the schemes implemented in Hyderabad district under Central department for women and child with name of the person concerned, and the response said that under the budget allocation of Women Helpline (181), Rs 73,60,968 was released and the expenditure was Rs 36,26,000. This helpline caters to women across India in times of emergency and to acquire information on women-related schemes, programmes and policies. This acts as an intervention to give women more access to formal support.

 According to the data under Integrated Child Development Services, pregnant and lactating women receiving meals are 11,985.

In seven months to three years, 55,122 women are receiving the meals. In three to six years, a total of 12,870 women are eating one full meal.

In Hyderabad, the project’s locations are ICDS in Charminar, Golconda, Khairatabad, Nampally and Secunderabad. Apart from these, Supplementary Nutrition Programme, Pre School Education, Beti Bachao Beti Padao and One Stop Centre Sakhi and District Hub for Women Empowerment are catering to women in need.
