Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Ilambarithi has directed officials to prioritise grievances received through the Prajavani programme and take prompt actions for resolution.
During the Prajavani programme held at the GHMC head office on Monday, citizens from various areas of the Greater Hyderabad region submitted grievances seeking solution. The Commissioner, along with Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha Shobhan Reddy, personally received the grievances.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Ilambarithi instructed the Town Planning officials to inspect complaints related to the department on-site and issue notices against illegal constructions.
He also directed them to submit a report on the action taken so far on complaints received in the department. To ensure effective monitoring and resolution, a special Additional CCP was appointed under whose supervision the issues should be addressed. The Commissioner stated that he would review the grievances related to town planning weekly and warned officials against negligence, emphasising strict disciplinary actions if required.
Deputy Mayor Srilatha Shobhan Reddy urged officials to regularly review grievances submitted through Prajavani and resolve them swiftly. She stressed the need for special attention from officials concerned to address public issues effectively.
In the Prajavani Phone-in Programme, three grievances were received and forwarded to the respective departments for swift resolution.
During the Prajavani programme at the GHMC head office, 48 grievances were received, including 29 for the Town Planning department, nine for the Tax department, three for CE Maintenance, two each for Finance, Health, and Land Acquisition, and one each for Housing and Veterinary departments.
A total of 82 grievances were received across six zones under GHMC, with Kukatpally zone receiving 35, Secunderabad zone 18, Serilingampally zone nine, Charminar zone eight, LB Nagar zone 11 and Khairatabad zone one.
