A 14 feet dreaded King cobra was captured at Mukundapuram village in Devarapalli mandal on Sunday.
Forest official Shiva Kumar said that the villagers spotted the King cobra at their fields and informed it to snake catcher Murthy. The snake catching team led by Murthy rushed to the village and captured the King Cobra after an hour struggling.
The King cobra is 14 feet long and weighs 12 kg. This is the first time King cobra has been spotted at the village, the villagers said.
The captured King cobra would be released in the forest area, the forest officer said. The farmers and the villagers heaved a sigh of relief with the capturing of the King Cobra.
