Twelve deputy tahsildars and surveyors, along with two village surveyors, have been issued show-cause notices by East Godavari District Collector P. Prashanthi for dereliction of duty in the ongoing re-survey process.
The Collector stated on Saturday that the field-level re-survey must be completed within a specific timeframe and according to established guidelines. These notices were issued due to negligence and ineffective performance by the officials and staff.
“After reviewing the Secretariat Services Status Report, it was observed that some village surveyors were not performing their duties effectively,” the Collector said. She emphasized that this negligence and failure to follow orders from higher authorities have created an unfavourable situation for the district administration.
Specifically, Rajanagaram Mandal Yerrampalem Village Surveyor V. Ramesh Kumar was asked to explain why he had five pending civil service logins. Kanavaram Village Surveyor Y. Gangaraju was also asked to explain four incomplete assignments. The Collector explained that these pending tasks have negatively impacted the overall progress of the district. Both surveyors have been directed to provide explanations under the Andhra Pradesh Civil Services Rules.
Show-cause notices were also issued to deputy tahsildars, mandal surveyors, and deputy tahsildars of Peravali, Gopalapuram, Rajamahendravaram Rural, Chagallu, Gokavaram, Kadiyam, Devarapalli, Nallajarla, Bikkavolu, Korukonda, Sitanagaram, and Rajanagaram for failing to complete assigned tasks.
Collector Prashanthi confirmed that the officials have been directed to submit written explanations as to why disciplinary action should not be taken against them for violating the Andhra Pradesh Civil Services Rules and procedures, and for not following the orders of their superiors.
