14 projects conceived at GIS 2023 begin commercial ops: CS

State Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy has announced that out of the 387 MoUs signed during the Global Investors Summit 2023 on March 2 and 3, 14 projects have already begun commercial operations. These projects have attracted an investment of Rs 2,749 crore and have provided employment for 7,108 individuals.

During a review meeting on the Global Investors Summit on Monday, the CS reported that 14 projects are already operational, with an investment of Rs 2,749 crore, resulting in the employment of 7,108 people. As many as 106 projects are currently under construction or ready to begin construction, with an investment of Rs 3,77,476 crore and the potential to generate employment for 2,13,513 individuals.

This demonstrates the confidence of investors in the State, with an investment strike rate of 29% and an employment strike rate of 35%. Other projects are at various stages of implementation, such as land allotment, ongoing approvals, DPR preparation, and financial closures.

He further stated that in the next two months (June/July), 28 projects are prepared for groundbreaking or inauguration, with an investment of Rs 1,93,150 crore and the potential to create employment for 1,17,937 people (List Annexed).

The CS also mentioned that the Chief Minister will virtually inaugurate or lay the foundation stone for 6 projects on June 22. These projects have a combined investment of Rs 1,775 crore and the potential to generate employment for 1,230 people.

The Andhra Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023, held on March 2 and 3, was highly successful, with numerous national and international companies expressing their interest to invest in Andhra Pradesh and signing MoUs with the government. A total of 387 MoUs were signed, with an investment commitment of Rs 13,12,120 crore and an employment commitment of 6,05,733 individuals, added CS Jawahar Reddy.
