140 kg ganja seized, four arrested

The police seized 140 kg of ganja worth Rs 10 lakh and arrested four persons at Polasanipalli in Bhimadole police station limits.

SP Rahuldev Sharma told the media here on Tuesday that on a tip-off, a police team conducted a checking of vehicles on the highway. The police found 140 kg of ganja being transported in an ice-cream van. The police also found four persons following the van in a car as escorts.

The police seized the two vehicles and arrested Berulal Jat, Ratan Ahir, Pravin Jat and another man who belong to Chittorgarh in Rajasthan state. The 140 kg ganja was neatly stuffed in seven bags.

The accused purchased a minivan, which was used to sell ice-creams, and stuffed the ganja bags in the freezer and were transporting them. The SP appreciated the police personnel for arresting the accused and seizing the cannabis.
