1,490 honoured at GITAM 15th graduation ceremony

GITAM, Deemed-to-be University  Hyderabad celebrated its 15th graduation ceremony on Saturday. The event honored the achievements of 1,490 graduating students from various academic programmes offered at the Hyderabad campus.
On this occasion, gold medals were awarded to 23 outstanding students for their exceptional academic performances. Additionally, 24 research scholars received their doctorates, marking significant contributions to their fields.
A global banking strategist and former chief executive officer of Barclays Bank India, Ram Gopal highlighted the evolving landscape of education. He remarked, “In this era of transformative technology and heightened sustainability awareness, we must shift focus from mere profit to impact, creating value through collaboration rather than competition. Embrace new experiences, learn from failure, cultivate meaningful relationships, find joy in your journey, and give back to enrich our society.”
Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof Gouthama Rao Yejju emphasised GITAM’s dedication to holistic education, stating, “At GITAM, we nurture a student-centric environment that fosters a 360-degree learning experience. Our mission is to provide a platform where students can discover their passion, engage in research, and emerge as skilled professionals created  to make a significant impact.”
Prof  DS Rao, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Hyderabad, spoke about the university’s vision and the role of its graduates in society.
He said, “Our vision is to build GITAM as a knowledge-driven institution of global standards. Our commitment to innovation and critical thinking equips our graduates to lead and contribute meaningfully to society.”
Ram Gopal, Prof. Gouthama Rao Yejju, and Prof. D S Rao participated in the graduation ceremony.
