Tragedy struck on Sunday when a fishing boat capsized in the sea at Bandarvanipet village in Gara mandal, resulting in the drowning of two fishermen.
According to official sources, a group of six fishermen embarked on a fishing expedition on a boat. However, the boat capsized in the sea, leading to the death of two fishermen identified as Pukkalla Lakshmaiah (53) and Gunta Ganapathi (45). Fortunately, the remaining four fishermen managed to swim ashore safely. The body of Lakshmaiah has been recovered, while an extensive search operation is currently underway by the coast guard personnel to locate the body of Ganapathi.
