2 notorious burglars arrested, Rs 13 L booty recovered

The police arrested two notorious burglars and recovered gold jewellery worth Rs 13.5 lakh. SP KKN Anburajan told the media that on October 26, they committed burglary in Proddatur in the house of Chandra Obul Reddy when he was out of station.

The duo decamped with gold jewellery worth Rs 13.5 lakh. Obul Reddy lodged a police complaint on the burglary on October 26.The police formed two teams to arrest burglars. The police examined the CCTV footage. They noticed two persons moving suspiciously at the bus stand area in Proddatur today and held them. They confessed that they committed the burglary. The police recovered gold jewellery including chains, ring, earrings and  a gold coin weighing 55 grams altogether weighing 270 grams.

The police arrested two burglars V Venkatesh and Mastan Vali, Venkatesh is a notorious criminal and he had been committing offences since 1996. Another burglar Mastan Vali involved in a murder case and was notorious thief. When they were lodged in Chanchalguda prison they became friends. After being freed from the prison, they had been committing offences for the last few months. The SP appreciated the police team who arrested the notorious offenders and announced rewards.
