The government is stepping up efforts to speed up house construction across the State, aiming to complete at least 200 homes daily. Housing and Information & Public Relations Minister Kolusu Parthasaradhi issued instructions during a video conference review with district officials on Monday. The meeting focused on the progress of ongoing housing projects and related matters.

Minister Parthasaradhi directed Assistant Engineers from the Housing Department to conduct daily inspections of layouts to ensure construction work proceeds without delay. He emphasised that if Engineering Assistants from village secretariats fail to cooperate, the issue must be promptly reported to the respective District Collectors.

To maintain uninterrupted construction, the Minister ordered that building materials be readily available to beneficiaries. He also instructed Assistant Engineers to lead the coordination of procurement and supply of materials to construction sites.

Highlighting the need for inter-departmental cooperation, the Minister stressed that Housing Department staff and Engineering Assistants must work closely, particularly at sites where houses remain unfinished. He urged all district officials to regularly monitor construction progress.

Setting a firm deadline, Minister Parthasaradhi mandated that all houses currently under construction be completed by March 2026, with officials and staff aligning their efforts to meet this target.

Special Chief Secretary Ajay Jain gave a detailed update on the current status of housing projects across the State.

Managing Director of the State Housing Corporation, M Shiva Prasad, along with senior officials and district authorities, also took part in the meeting.
