24 take ill in Zaheerabad after eating restaurant food

In all, 24 persons, including four children, took ill after eating the contaminated food from the Prince Mandi restaurant in the town on Saturday.

Municipal authorities, according to sources, sealed the restaurant and imposed a fine on it. Soon after savouring food at the restaurant, many showed the symptoms of severe dehydration. They were admitted to the Vaidya Vidhana Parishad regional hospital in the town for treatment. The condition of four of the patients was stated to be critical. They were rushed to Hyderabad for treatment.

The food inspector inspected the hotel following the incident and collected samples of edible oil, chicken and other ingredients used in the hotel for analyzing them in the laboratory. Zaheerabad town sub-inspector Srikant is investigating.
