The police arrested three persons for issuing a death threat to a man if he did not pay them Rs 2 crore.
Police told the media that four persons demanded IVKV Prasada Rao alias Vajram Raju of Kaikaluru town to give them Rs 2 crore and threatened to kill him or his son if he did not give them money.
Prasada Raju received phone calls from the accused repeatedly. Finally he lodged a complaint with the police. The police team led by CI Akula Raghu arrested the accused including Thokala Yesebu, Seelam Hemant and Chinnam Barambasu. Another accused Dara Manik Rao is absconding.
The police team arrested the three accused in Kaikaluru when they were conducting a recce at the house of Prasada Raju to kidnap him. Manik Rao worked as a car driver at Prasada Raju previously and he knew that Prasada Raju could pay Rs 2 crore as he was a businessman. The police seized the mobile phones and SIM cards from the arrested persons.
