The police seized 320 kg of ganja while being transported in a mini-transport vehicle and arrested the driver at Lothugedda village in Mentada village.
DSP Sridhar told the media here on Sunday that on a tip-off, a police team led by L Appala Naidu conducted checking of vehicles. They found a mini-transport vehicle going in a suspicious manner. When they stopped the vehicle, the driver Bagbal Phillow of Odisha tried to flee but the police chased and apprehended him.
The police found 320 kg of ganja being transported in the vehicle. The ganja was neatly packed in 32 packets. The police seized the ganja, vehicle and also seized Rs 20,000 cash from the driver.
