On the occasion of Independence Day, the Central government has announced Police Medals to 954 policemen. A total of 229 people have been awarded Police Gallantry Medals, 82 President Vishisht Seva Medals and 642 Police Service Medals.
While 34 people were selected from Telangana, 29 policemen from AP got medals. One person from AP was selected for President’s Police Vishishta Seva Medal, 18 Police Gallantry Medals and 10 people were selected for Vishishta Seva Medals.
22 persons from Telangana state were awarded Police Gallantry Medals, 10 persons were awarded Police Seva Medals, and two others from Telangana, Additional DG Vijay Kumar and SP Madadi Ramana Kumar were selected for President’s Distinguished Service Medals.
In all, 22 Police Gallantry Medal recipients from Telangana State are
SP Bhaskaran, Inspectors Sivaprasad, Purushottam Reddy, RI Ramesh, SI Bandari Kumar, RSIs Mahesh, Sheikh Nagul Meera, Head Constables Adinarayana, Ashok received gallantry medals. Constables Sandeep Kumar, Karthik, Madhu, Sampath, late Sushil, Sunil Kumar, Sukumar, Kalyan Kumar, Sridhar, Ravindra Babu, Rathod Ramesh, Mahender Rao, Sivakumar and others were among the recipients of gallantry medals.
Similarly, 10 policemen who received police service medals from Telangana are Bandi Venkateswara Reddy, Additional SP, Khairatabad, Mishetti Ramakrishna Prasad Rao, Additional SP, Atmakuri Venkateswari, Additional SP, Andoju Satyanarayana, RSI, Kakkarla Srinivas, RSI, Mahankali Madhu, RSI, Ajella Srinivasa Rao, RI, Rasamoni Venkataiah, Senior Commando, Araveti Bhanu Prasad Rao, Inspector , Hyderabad and Sayana Venkateshwarlu, ASI.
