4.20 lakh saplings to be planted in district on August 26

District Collector G Ravi Naik has called upon all officers to make arrangements for planting of 4.20 lakh saplings on August 26 as part of the grand plantation drive of planting one crore saplings across the state.

In a meeting addressed by him through teleconference to review the arrangements with district and mandal-level officials held here on Wednesday, he noted that 2.20 lakh pits have been dug and asked the MPDOs and Municipal Commissioners to monitor digging of the remaining pits in the next three days. Also, he wanted them to pay attention to planting the prescribed 4.20 lakh saplings.

The district forest officer and DRDO should pay attention to this. All elected people’s representatives should be involved in the exercise, he said.

In all, 10 lakh tall saplings are available in the district, he said asking the officials to take steps to batching them and matching them. To develop commercial forestry, five blocks have been identified in the district. The target of planting 50,000 saplings in 60 acres should be accomplished by Friday, he said asking the DRDO and DFO to pay special attention to this.

The sheep units distribution programme should be stepped up, he said. He wanted more and more beneficiaries should be taken on a field trip and procurement of sheepunits should be stepped up. Payments should be made immediately for procurement of sheep and the sheep units distributed should be uploaded into the dash board, he said.

Under economic support programme, the details of financial assistance extended to the BCs should be immediately uploaded intothe portal. At the same time, the new list of beneficiaries should be prepared in two or three days, he said.

He also asked the district minority welfare officier to take steps to distribute 118 cheques among the beneficiaries belonging to minority sections under the Minority Bandhu scheme.

The balance of the applications under Gruhalakshmi scheme should be disposed of immediately after the scrutiny. The data of eligible beneficiaries should be entered into the portal. The information should be uploaded into relevant portal, he said asking thousing EE V Bhaskar to give priority to the exercise.

The applications received under Dalit Bandhu should be subjected to scrutiny immediately by MPDOs and should be uploaded into the relevant portal. The distribution of the benefits should be taken up after speaking with the MLAs, he said.

Regarding the distribution of social welfare house site pattas in 13 layouts, approval has been given. Therefore, he asked the officials to take steps for their distribution.

He also reviewed the scrutiny of notarised documents, appointments to be made on compassionate grounds and other aspects.

Revenue additional collector S Mohan Rao, DRDO Yadaiah, municipal commissioners, MPDOs, Tahsildrs andothers attended the tele conference.
