In a freak incident, a four-year-old girl was killed when a country-made rifle accidentally went off at Velama Kothuru village in Tuni mandal on Tuesday.
Police said that a person loaded his country-made rifle to kill wild boars. At the same time, a group of children were playing in the area. The rifle went off accidentally and the bullet pierced through Dhanasri (4) killing her instantaneously.
The police registered a case and shifted the body to the GGH for postmortem, arrested the accused, and seized the rifle.
