40 kgs ganja seized, three arrested

The police seized 40 KGs of ganja while being transported illegally and arrested three persons at A1 function hall on Guntur road.

Police here on Wednesday said that on a tip off a police team conducted checking of vehicles at. They found an auto rickshaw moving suspiciously. They stopped the vehicle and checked. They found 40 KGs of ganja in the auto rickshaw.

The ganja was neatly packed in 25 packets, concealed under the seat and being transported in the auto rickshaw illegally. The ganja was brought from an agency area in Visakhapatnam district. The police arrested Sk.Baji, Pasam Sambashiva Rao and Keenala Veerendranath and cases under section Cr. No.42/2022, U/s 8 (c) r/w 20(b)(ii) (C) of NDPS Act,1985 were registered against them.

SP Malika Garg appreciated SEB inspector B Latha, SEB sub-inspector MV Gopal Krishna and other police personnel for the seizure of ganja and arrested the accused.
