District Collector Praveen Kumar has said that 41,993 young voters are going to exercise their franchise for the first time in the elections in the district. The Collector inspected the EVMs and polling material in a polling station Sullurpet on Sunday. Talking to the media on the occasion, he said that 41,993 voters are under 18-19 years of age and they would cast their vote for the first time.
He said that in the seven Assembly constituencies in the district, there are 18,12,980 voters and the Collector appealed to the voters to cast their vote without fail.
He said that out of the total 18,12,980 voters, 8,83,330 male voters and 9,29,466 women voters while there are 184 transgender voters. He said that there are 2,45,205 votes in Gudur (SC) Assembly constituency, 2,42,610 voters in Sullurpet Assembly constituency, 2,43,582 voters in Venkatagiri constituency, 3,15,159 voters in Chandragiri constituency, 3,02,503 voters in Tirupati Assembly constituency, 2,48,536 voters Srikalahasti constituency and there are 2,15,385 voters in Satyavedu (SC) constituency.
