44 bus passengers have miraculous escape

As many as 44 passengers travelling in an APSRTC bus had a miraculous escape as the vehicle veered off the road and overturned in a gorge at Makavarapalem in Challapalli mandal on Sunday.
Police said that the APSRTC bus was going to Vijayawada from Avanigadda. The bus had to pass through the Krishna river Karakatta.  The driver lost control over the bus resulting in veering off the road, plunged into a gorge and overturned.
All the passengers travelling on the bus escaped unhurt.  CI Naga Prasad and SI Chinababu rushed and cleared the traffic on the road. RTC  Depot manager Hanumantha Rao visited the scene of the accident and inspected the ill-fated bus.
TDP district vice-president Mandali Venkatram visited the place and said that the accident took place because of badr oads. However, the RTC depot manager clarified that the bus was in good condition and they were ascertaining the exact reason for the accident.
