In a disturbing development, five young girls have gone missing in a span of just two days in the combined Chittoor district. The girls, all minors, have disappeared from various locations within Chittoor, including Piler, Kuppam, KV Palle, and Ojili.

Alarmed by their sudden disappearance, family members lodged complaints with the local authorities, prompting an immediate search operation by the police to locate the missing girls.

Amidst the ongoing search efforts, sources close to the investigation revealed that three of the girls, aged approximately 17 years, seemingly left their homes voluntarily due to personal reasons. Law enforcement officials said that these cases are being treated as missing persons reports and not instances of trafficking.

In a separate incident, a glimmer of hope emerged for two girls who had gone missing from a Tribal school hostel in Piler, situated within the former Chittoor district. Swift action by the police led to the identification of the missing girls, ensuring their safety as they were found at their grandparents’ residence.

According to police reports, the two girls, both 10 years old and enrolled at the tribal school in Piler, had departed from the hostel premises without informing the warden during the early hours of Friday. The concerned warden promptly alerted the police, who embarked on a determined mission to locate the youngsters.

Subsequent investigations unveiled that the girls had managed to reach their grandparents’ home in Piler. Upon receiving this crucial information, law enforcement officers swiftly intervened, reuniting the girls with the relieved hostel warden.
