The police on Monday seized 477 kg of marijuana worth Rs 1,19,35,000 and arrested five persons on charge of smuggling of the narcotic substance, Manuguru Circle Inspecto Soma Satish said.
The narcotic substance is being smuggled to Zaheerabad in Telanana from Sileru and Donkarayi in AP, the police said.
Besides taking five persons into their custody, the police seized the narcotic substance and two vehicles – a car and an Ashok Leyland lorry – from them.
The arrested were sent for remand.
