5,000 take part in ‘Balotsav’

The three-day ‘Balotsav’ organised by the Vijayawada Children Schools & Tutorial Association (VCS & TA) at the Vijaya College of Engineering for Women at Enikepadu, near Vijayawada, concluded on Sunday. On these three days, about 5,000 students from 350 schools participated.

On the final day of the programme, Vijayawada-East MLA Gadde Rama Mohan attended as a chief guest and presented the prizes to the winners and runners.

Speaking on this occasion, MLA Rama Mohan said that participation is more important than winning and he added that every student should participate in sporting event or cultural activity like the ‘Balotsav’. Sports and games are part of education and educational institutions should allocate some time for playing, he added.

Industrialist Puttagunta Satish, ‘Balotsav’ committee president Chennareddy Srinivas Reddy, honorary president Devineni Kishore Kumar, chairmen of various committees Mamidi Srinivasa Rao, Mudigonda Srihari Rao, Arumalla Mohan Reddy, T Srinivasa Rao, Sridhar Reddy, and others were present.
