5,00,653 houses ready for opening

In a remarkable achievement, the Andhra Pradesh State Housing Department has successfully constructed a total of 500,653 houses across the State under the ‘Navaratnalu Pedalandariki illu’ scheme. This accomplishment, carried out under the leadership of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, marks a significant milestone in the State’s commitment to providing quality housing for its citizens.

To reach this ambitious goal, the officials and staff of the Housing Department worked tirelessly in close coordination with other government line departments. As on Monday, the government completed the construction of 500,653 houses spanning all 26 districts of Andhra Pradesh.

Under the guidance of Ajay Jain, Special Chief Secretary for Housing, senior officers of the Housing Department were appointed as Special Officers. They were tasked with regular visits to Jagananna layouts and colonies to oversee the progress and promptly address any challenges that arose at the grassroots level. Additionally, District officials were closely involved in resolving local issues, ensuring the project’s success. Lakshmisha, Managing Director of AP Housing Corporation, played a pivotal role in the process.

He conducted regular review meetings with district officials, offering guidance and setting high standards for achieving targets.

MD Diwan Mydeen, Special Secretary of the Housing Department, and M Shiva Prasad, Joint Managing Director of the Housing Corporation, personally visited various districts, including Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Nellore, and Bapatla. Their visits helped provide on-ground support and ensure adherence to project timelines. Senior officials also followed suit, conducting bi-monthly visits to their respective districts, boosting morale, and motivating officials to maintain their commitment to project completion.

Housewarming ceremony

A grand housewarming ceremony is on the horizon, where all five lakh beneficiaries, along with their families and public representatives, will inaugurate their new homes. This auspicious event will take place simultaneously throughout the state. Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy will be personally present at one of the layouts to hand over keys to the beneficiaries. Public representatives and officials will join him in conducting similar ceremonies in all districts on the same day.

Minister for Housing, Jogi Ramesh, extends his heartfelt congratulations to all officials and staff for achieving the remarkable milestone of completing 5 lakh houses. He encourages them to continue their hard work and dedication to expedite the construction of the remaining houses.
