The rains damaged 2,770 poles and 34 transformers in the TSSPDCL area. 605 poles and seven transformers were damaged in the Greater Hyderabad area, and they have been restored.
TSNPDCL’s 2,787 poles were damaged and 450 transformers and 140 sub-stations were submerged in water. These have been restored.
G. Raghuma Reddy, the Chairman and Managing Director of TSSPDCL, said that the electricity distribution system was damaged by the heavy rains in the state in the last 10 days and that it has been repaired and electricity is now being supplied to all categories of consumers.
He reviewed the supply situation with Chief General Managers, Superintending Engineers of districts/circles and Divisional Engineers through video conference from the company’s headquarters.
Annamaneni Gopal Rao, the Chairman & Managing Director of TSNPDCL, said the power distribution system damaged by the rains is being restored on a war footing.
As the threat of heavy rains has not gone away, the CMD ordered officers and staff to be alert and be available at headquarters even on holidays. Stores and operation staff have been ordered to be on duty on
holidays too.
