A mega medical camp held on Sunday at Patel Gardens in Kagaznagar in the district in connection with the 25th death anniversary of praja Bandhu Palvai Purushottam Rao evoked overwhelming response. The Medical camp was held under the aegis of the Praja Bandhu Foundation.
MLA Palvai Harish Babu lighted the traditional lamp and paid floral tributes at the portrait of Palvai Purushottam and paid glowing tributes to the eminent leader. Addressing the gathering, the MLA said that such service-oriented programmes would be conducted in future too to fulfil the ideas of late Palvai Purushottama Rao.
Eye surgeries were conducted on 8,000 patients under the aegis of the Praja Bandhu Foundation.
Deputy District Medical and Health Officer Dr Sitaram, cardialogist Dr Kiran Kumar, neurosurgeon Dr Arun Seshu, kidney diseases specialist Dr Rakesh, urologist Dr Revanthvarma, gastroenterologist Dr Sridhar, general physician Dr Sai Vivek, general surgeons Dr Raj Kumar, Dr Sudhakar, Dr Om Prakash, Dr Sravan Kumar and others were present at the mega medical camp.
In all, 2,500 patients were screened at the medical camp and ECG, 2D-Echo, ultrasound, blood and urine tests were ran on them. Medicines were prescribed to them.
