Minister for Irrigation N Uttam Kumar Reddy along with Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao and Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy on Friday inspected the Sunkisala pump house and inspected the damaged retaining wall.
He said that the construction of the pump house took place during the BRS regime.
Later addressing media, the government learnt about the collapse of the retaining wall of the pump house only through the social media. Immediately the government responded and the department of waterworks has been probing into it.
Once the CM returns to India from his US trip, a decision would be taken only after consulting him. Duringt he BRS regime, the south Telangana faced neglect, he alleged.
On Sunkisala incident, Uttam said that there was no need for worry about the collapse of the retaining wall. The damage caused was minimalistic. The contractor would have to foot the bill. The minister clarified that there was no loss either to the people or to the government due to the wall collapse.
The SLBC project, which was neglected by the BRS regime, would be completed by Congress government. Similarly, the present regime will also complete Dindi LI scheme.
Former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao and former TRS working president KT Rama Rao alone knew the rationale behind commencing the Sunkisala pump house. In fact, the Sunkisala project is not necessary to provide drinking water to twin cities, he said.
He was at a loss of comprehension to figure out whether the Sunkisala pump house is the brain child of KCR or KTR.
