85 modified silencers of bikes crushed with bulldozer

The police have taken stringent action against the bike riders, who were creating a whirring noise using special silencers. The police caught such motorcycles, removed the silencers and crushed them with a bulldozer here on Saturday.
SP L Subba Rayudu told the media here on Saturday that some motorcyclists were creating unbearable noise with their motorcycles by using special silencers. The police conducted a special drive to identify such motorcycles with silencers.  
The motorcyclists were creating too much noise at hospitals, schools, temples and other sensitive areas by running the bikes with special cylinders. The police received complaints from various walks of people urging them to curb such motorcycles.During the special drive, the police identified 385 such silencers, removed them from the bikes and crushed them with a bulldozer.  Later the SP flagged off an awareness rally at Sri Padmavati Mahila University and he participated in the bike rally.  
Additional SP Venkateswara Rao (Admin) Ravi Manoharcharu (L&O) and DSP Ramakrishnachari were among those who took part in the programme.
