The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) will mark its 25th anniversary with a grand silver jubilee celebration, culminating in a massive public meeting in Warangal on April 27, BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) said.
The event is expected to draw lakhs and serve as a platform to reaffirm BRS’s commitment to Telangana.
KCR, who chaired a party meeting at his Erravalli residence, said that BRS remains the political identity of Telangana and a shield protecting the state’s interests.
He asserted that the failures of the Congress government in the last 14 months have reinforced BRS’s significance, as people feel betrayed by Congress’s unfulfilled promises.
Addressing BRS leaders, KCR emphasized that the BRS is not just a party but a movement built by the people of Telangana.
“The people of Telangana consider BRS their party. It was the BRS which led the struggle for statehood and governed Telangana for a decade with a development-oriented approach. However, the people are now facing hardships under the Congress admin,” he said.
KCR criticised the Congress Government for failing to fulfil its poll guarantees, stating that people have seen through its deception and are ready to rally behind the BRS whenever elections are held.

The silver jubilee celebrations will include a mega public meeting in Warangal, with party leaders actively involved in finalising the venue. KCR directed leaders to mobilise lakhs of people for the event, making it a historic show of strength.

After the Warangal meeting, the BRS will undertake a comprehensive organisational restructuring, strengthening the party from the village level to the state level. New committees will be formed and a representative meeting will be held to introduce them.

In a strategic move, KCR emphasised the need for greater participation of youth and women in the party structure. The meeting also deliberated extensively on the prevailing political landscape at both the state and national levels, shaping BRS’s future strategies.

BRS leaders expressed concern over Telangana’s lack of parliament representation, stating that the absence of BRS MPs in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha is ‘harming’ Telangana’s interests. They resolved to mobilise public awareness and ensure stronger representation for Telangana in the national political arena.

The meeting lasted for nearly eight hours, during which senior BRS leaders shared their perspectives, and KCR actively sought opinions on key issues.

The party concluded that the Warangal public meeting would be a direct response to the anti-Telangana policies of the state and Centre and reaffirming the BRS’s role as the guardian of Telangana’s hopes.
