Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has underscored the need for 100% quality in government services, ensuring complete satisfaction among beneficiaries. He stressed that there should be no complaints regarding the conduct of officials and employees.
During a review meeting on the implementation of government schemes and programs, the Chief Minister emphasized improving service delivery and gauging public perception.
He announced plans to conduct weekly reviews of four departments, covering 16 departments in total. This week’s review included Revenue Services, Hospital Services, Temple Services, and Municipal Services.
Assessing hospital services, Naidu noted that 68.6% of patients reported the availability of doctors, while 71.7% expressed satisfaction with doctors’ behaviour, and 65.6% were content with staff conduct. Cleanliness and availability of prescribed medications received a satisfaction rating of around 65%, signalling the need for improvements.
In municipal services, 67% of respondents confirmed daily waste collection, though some areas faced disruptions due to staff shortages, which officials assured were being addressed.
Regarding revenue services, 24.95% of respondents stated they were charged additional fees for passport applications without prior notice, while 40.61% received timely notifications from village revenue officers. About 63.33% confirmed that their applications were investigated. The CM called for greater transparency and efficiency in revenue services to boost public confidence. Feedback on temple services showed that 70% of devotees could visit temples at their preferred times, and 63% were satisfied with infrastructure and amenities. Additionally, 81% confirmed that offerings were fresh and of good quality.
Naidu suggested implementing a volunteer system to enhance services and ensure the respectful treatment of devotees.
The government is exploring work-from-home arrangements along with neighbourhood and co-working spaces.
A survey covering 2.68 crore people among village and ward secretariat staff revealed that 82.06 lakh individuals have been surveyed so far. Of these, 1.72 lakh expressed interest in work-from-home options, while 20.43 lakh stated they would consider it under suitable conditions.
The survey also highlighted varying educational backgrounds, with 9.05 lakh respondents having less than intermediate education and 10.73 lakh holding diplomas or higher qualifications. The Chief Minister directed officials to explore the establishment of work-from-home centres in villages and provide necessary training for eligible individuals.
Naidu also reviewed the Manamitra program, which offers 200 services via WhatsApp. He stressed the need for digital literacy training and online accessibility for all services to curb bureaucracy and corruption. Additionally, he advocated for greater use of drone technology in police patrols and sanitation work, urging officials to maximize technological advancements for improved efficiency and governance.
