Musharraf Faruqui, Chairman & Managing Director of Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL), reviewed the summer action plan for Habsiguda, Medchal and Sangareddy circles in the Medchal Zone on Thursday. Electricity demand in Medchal and Habsiguda circles has been rising by 25-30% annually. Due to insufficient upgrades, Medchal, Bowrampet, Ameenpur, Bachupally, Pragathi Nagar, Jeedimetla, KPHB, Miyapur, Patancheru and Mayuri Nagar faced power issues last summer.
To address this, a thorough technical survey was conducted, leading to large-scale improvements. The company installed 62 additional power transformers, 1,081 distribution transformers, 243 11 kV feeders, and 37 33 kV feeders. Additionally, 15 new 33/11 kV substations are under construction. During his visit, Faruqui inaugurated the 12.5 MVA transformers at Sai Nagar 33/11 kV substation in Habsiguda, Veerareddy Colony 11 kV feeder, and SBR Colony feeder. He also unveiled the new 33 kV Pragathi Nagar feeder at the 132 kV Bowrampet substation and transformers at Shamshiguda and Osman Sagar substations. VTGSPDCL Commercial Director Sai Baba; Medchal Zone Chief Engineer Kamesh; Superintending Engineers P Brahmam, Ravi Kumar and Srinath; Divisional Engineers; and other officials also participated in this programme.
