BRS Working President KT Rama Rao launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, questioning the massive fall in revenue in Telangana despite claims of economic growth.
Speaking to the media on the Assembly premises, KTR pointed out that Revanth himself admitted to a revenue drop of Rs 70,000 crore. “If Telangana is truly rising, how did this happen? This is not Telangana Rising but Telangana Falling,” he said, calling it the biggest disgrace the state had ever faced.
KTR criticised the Rs 71,000 crore budget cut, stating that while the Congress government boasts about agriculture, investments and industries flourishing, figures show a sharp fall in revenue. “A golden state was handed over, but Revanth has wrecked it calling Telangana a cancer,” he lashed out.
He demanded transparency in budget allocations, asking which sectors had grown and how the revenue had been utilized.
“Before the budget, Revanth admitted failure. He has become an approver of his own government’s incompetence. The Chief Minister himself confessed that his government is a complete flop. He should stop gossiping and focus on governance,” KTR stated..
Taking a dig at Revanth Reddy’s governance, KTR said, “Every Chief Minister builds houses, but has anyone seen one who demolishes them?”
He accused the Congress Government of lacking the intelligence to increase revenue and mocked Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka for claiming the budget was realistic. “For months, we have been saying the economy is collapsing and today they have admitted it,” KTR added.
He blamed Revanth’s policies for the deterioration of Telangana’s financial health.
“Shutting down Kaleshwaram out of hatred for KCR has destroyed agriculture. The economic downfall we warned about is now visible in the budget itself,” he said, adding that the CM’s first year in office was marked by negative politics, unlawful detentions and a tarnished image of Telangana.
KTR did not hold back in his criticism, branding Revanth Reddy as an incapable leader who has turned Telangana into a disaster.
“In just one year, Revanth has failed as a Chief Minister. There was no economic recession or COVID crisis, yet Telangana’s financial situation has worsened. If Revanth claims to have a good relationship with the Centre, what additional funds has he secured for Telangana?” he questioned.
He ridiculed Revanth’s frequent trips to New Delhi, challenging him to show what benefits Telangana had received from them.
“Revanth visited New Delhi 40 times, if not 400. He can bow before Modi or Rahul Gandhi, but what funds has he brought for Telangana?” KTR asked.
He also accused Revanth of proving his detractors right. “For years, anti-Telangana forces claimed our leaders lacked governance skills. Revanth is making them look right. If he had been around in 2014, Telangana would have become a failed state,” he remarked.
KTR attacked the Congress Government for mishandling overseas scholarships, stating that over 7,000 students from Telangana were struggling due to the government’s neglect. “Revanth is more interested in gossip than governance. His administration is now planning a TDR scam,” he alleged.
He also pointed out Rahul Gandhi’s silence on the Hyderabad Central University land issue. “Why is Rahul silent? He once visited the university for a photo-op, but today, he won’t even respond,” KTR said.
