Vijay Deverakonda’s Team Clarifies His Stand on Betting App Controversy

Vijay Deverakonda has found himself in the spotlight after Telangana police filed a case against him for promoting a betting application on social media. In response, his team has now issued a clarification, asserting that the actor only endorsed legally recognised betting platforms.
His team emphasised that Deverakonda had entered into an official contract as a brand ambassador strictly for skill-based games. They pointed out that the Supreme Court of India has legally recognised games like online rummy as games of skill rather than gambling.
“The endorsement was limited to regions and territories where online skill-based games are legally permitted,” his team explained. They further clarified that the actor’s legal team and agencies conduct thorough reviews before entering any agreements. Deverakonda’s endorsement was for the skill-based gaming platform A23, which was legally vetted before he associated with it. Moreover, his team revealed that his contract with the brand ended in 2023 and he is no longer affiliated with it.
