Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will launch the P-4 (Public, Private, People’s Partnership) scheme, a State-level initiative aimed at eradicating poverty in Andhra Pradesh on March 30, said Chief Secretary K Vijayanand. The inauguration will take place in Amaravati from 5 PM to 7 PM, coinciding with the Ugadi festival. This programme is designed to bridge the gap between the affluent and the impoverished sections of society, fostering collaboration to uplift the marginalised.
The Chief Secretary, in a review meeting on Thursday, stressed the significant role of the P-4 scheme in creating a sustainable support system for the State’s poorest.
“The goal of this programme is to connect 10 per cent of the State’s high-net-worth individuals with the 20 per cent of people living below the poverty line, helping them overcome poverty through targeted partnerships and support,” he explained.
To ensure a successful launch, extensive arrangements have been made, with over 11,500 people, including self-help group members, students, farmers and labourers, set to attend. Special RTC buses will transport participants from across the State, including approximately 7,000 people from districts near Amaravati such as Eluru, Krishna, NTR and Guntur. The remaining attendees will be brought from more distant areas like Manyam, Chittoor and Kurnool, with arrangements made for their safe and timely transport.
District collectors have been instructed to ensure the smooth transportation of attendees, with specific instructions on traffic management, security and the provision of essential services. A nodal officer will be appointed in each district to coordinate local efforts, while a liaison officer will be assigned to each bus.
For attendees coming from nearby districts, arrangements will be made for breakfast, lunch and dinner on the day of the event. Those traveling from farther districts will be provided with accommodation for two days, as they will need to leave a day earlier to reach the venue.
The Chief Secretary highlighted that this launch is not a routine public meeting but a specialised event with a distinct purpose.
“We want the attendees to feel valued and included, ensuring they enjoy the celebrations and experience the full benefits of the scheme,” Vijayanand said.
The State’s senior officials, including the IG of Stamps and Registration, Harinarayana, along with senior department officers, will oversee the logistics of the event. The successful execution of this launch will mark the beginning of a critical initiative aimed at improving the lives of the State’s most vulnerable populations.
