The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) marked its 43rd Foundation Day with a grand ceremony at NTR Bhavan in Vijayawada on Saturday. The event was led by MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) and attended by key dignitaries, including District Party President N Raghuram, MLAs Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao and Sriram Rajagopal (Tatayya), as well as State Media Representative Nagul Meera.
The ceremony commenced with a tribute to the statue of NT Rama Rao, the founder of TDP, followed by Raghuram hoisting the party flag. In a special recognition ceremony, 120 senior party leaders and workers who had made significant contributions to the party’s growth, particularly in Vijayawada, were honoured by MP Kesineni Sivanath and other leaders.
Speaking at the event, the MP highlighted the vision of NTR, who was the first to prioritise the welfare of the poor in India through the establishment of the TDP. He also emphasised the efforts of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in working towards Vision-2047 for a prosperous Andhra Pradesh, with a focus on eradicating poverty.
He recalled that despite facing numerous challenges, the TDP had remained strong, with its workers serving as its backbone. He also commended the party’s 23 years in power and 20 years in opposition, always standing with the people to address their concerns.
MLA Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao and Raghuram also spoke, praising the party’s commitment to social justice and its role in empowering marginalised communities. They lauded Chandrababu Naidu for his continued efforts to strengthen the party and uphold NTR’s ideals.
