The Telangana Government has decided to constitute a Group of Ministers (GoM) to hold talks and provide a solution to the contentious Kanche Gachibowli land issue. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said on X that the committee will be headed by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and will have IT and Industries Minister Sridhar Babu and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy as its members.
The GoM will engage in discussions with the key stakeholders, including the executive committee of the Hyderabad Central University (HCU), representatives of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) and civil organisations, student delegations and other concerned parties.
The government said that the committee’s objective is to resolve the issue amicably and lay out a clear way forward. The decision comes amid protests and concerns surrounding the land, with student groups and environmental activists demanding transparency and protection of the area.
Officials said that the GoM will start talks shortly and submit its recommendations to the government after extensive deliberations with all stakeholders.
