Digital governance: AP launches ‘Mana Mitra’ service State-wide door-to-door campaign from April 15

Must read

In a major step towards digital governance, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has launched Mana Mitra, a secure, citizen-friendly WhatsApp-based platform offering easy access to a wide range of government services. Citizens can save the number 95523 00009 on their phones to avail themselves of the service.
From 15 April, the State will begin a door-to-door campaign titled Mana Mitra at Every Home. Village and Ward Secretariat staff will visit households across all districts to help residents save the Mana Mitra number and explain how to use the platform. District Collectors will oversee the campaign’s implementation and progress.
To support the initiative, the IT and RTG departments have prepared brochures and video guides, which will be shared during home visits and circulated through WhatsApp and social media at the village level. The goal is to ensure that every mobile phone in the State is equipped with the Mana Mitra number, and citizens are aware of how to use the service.
Mana Mitra currently provides access to over 250 government services, with plans to expand to 500 by 12 June and over 1,000 in the near future. The services are available instantly via WhatsApp, removing the need to visit government offices or wait in queues.
The platform is designed with strong data privacy safeguards. No personal data is shared with WhatsApp or third parties, and digital certificates issued are legally valid. With Mana Mitra, the State aims to make public services more accessible, efficient, and citizen-centric—all from the convenience of a smartphone.
