Beyond beauty, healing in harmony

Must read

In an era where beauty shelves are cluttered with synthetic serums and quick-fix creams, Rakhi Maiti, an advanced cosmetologist, aromatherapist and Ayurvedic skincare formulator, has carved a path rooted in ancient Indian wisdom. Her brand, Regoras, stands tall on the synergy of bioactive botanicals, therapeutic essential oils and dosha-balancing ingredients that work not just on the skin—but through it, toward holistic well-being.
“Regoras was born from the idea of redefining skincare by blending Ayurvedic Proprietary Medicine with Aromatherapy Essential Oils,” says Maiti. “Ayurveda isn’t just an ancient tradition; it’s a science that focuses on holistic healing and skin wellness at a deeper level.”
As someone who’s seen firsthand the damage caused by chemical-laden skincare—thinning skin, premature aging, increased sensitivity—Maiti was determined to break the cycle. She observed how many so-called ‘natural’ products were often greenwashed, loaded with synthetic additives that offered instant gratification but no true nourishment. “This inspired me to create a brand that stays true to Ayurveda while integrating modern skincare needs. Our formulations use bioactive botanicals and essential oils to restore balance, enhance skin health, and provide long-lasting results.”
Indeed, Regoras is not merely a brand. It’s a movement toward mindful, conscious skincare. The label prides itself on crafting every product by hand—a process that demands both precision and deep respect for ingredients. One of its most popular offerings, the 3-in-1 Cleansing Ubtan, illustrates this devotion. A multi-functional marvel, the Ubtan adapts to users’ routines as a face wash, exfoliating scrub and detoxifying face pack.
“This formula includes potent ingredients like turmeric, sandalwood and orange peel—all known for their skin-purifying and brightening properties,” says Maiti.
Another fan-favourite is the Glow Serum, a rich blend of nine botanical oils that hydrates, evens skin tone and smooths fine lines. “Infused with Ayurvedic botanicals and essential oils, it provides visible results while nurturing skin health from within.”
Each ingredient in their product is carefully selected based on a dosha-based philosophy. The formulations target not just symptoms, but underlying imbalances. “We ensure every ingredient aligns with Ayurvedic principles while addressing modern concerns like pollution, blue light exposure and oxidative stress,” she explains. For instance, aloe vera and sandalwood soothe Pitta (sensitive) skin, while neem and turmeric detoxify Kapha (oily) tendencies. Modern additions like plant-based hyaluronic acid and niacinamide are seamlessly incorporated into these ancient recipes—ensuring performance without compromising purity.
With the rise of “clean beauty,” Maiti acknowledges that educating customers about authentic Ayurvedic skincare has been both a challenge and a mission. “There’s a misconception that Ayurveda is slow or ineffective,” she admits. “While conventional skincare may show instant but temporary results, Ayurvedic skincare works at a deeper level, offering long-term transformation.”
Overcoming this skepticism through evidence, she explains, “We rely on clinical studies, real-user testimonials, and education to help customers understand the science behind Ayurvedic healing.”
Another obstacle is standing apart in a market where “Ayurveda” is often used as a buzzword. “We ensure transparency by following classical Ayurvedic formulations, dermatologically testing our products, and listing every ingredient clearly, helping consumers make informed choices.”
Beyond skin health, sustainability is embedded in their DNA. “We prioritise ethical sourcing, partnering with suppliers who follow fair trade and regenerative harvesting practices,” Maiti explains. Their formulations are water-efficient and designed for nutrient retention. Packaging, too, is shifting toward biodegradable, recyclable options. “We’re reducing plastic usage through glass containers and eco-friendly alternatives and our small-batch production minimises waste.”
Balancing tradition with innovation is no small feat, but Maiti has found her rhythm. She introduces modern enhancements like micro-emulsion technology and pH-balanced formulations to elevate the efficacy of herbal actives. “By staying authentic yet adaptable, we make Ayurveda relevant for today’s beauty-conscious consumers.”
Her brand is proudly rooted in Indian soil—both metaphorically and literally. Signature ingredients are drawn from every corner of the country: Kashmiri Kumkumadi for radiance, Bengal’s Manjistha to detoxify, Himalayan Ashwagandha to reduce stress-related aging and Brahmi for collagen support. “These herbs, combined with essential oils like frankincense, sandalwood, and vetiver, create potent formulations that heal, restore, and rejuvenate,” she adds.
Convincing a synthetic-skincare-dominated market to embrace Ayurveda hasn’t been easy, but Maiti is unwavering in her approach. “We focus on transparency and education by sharing in-depth insights on our ingredients, formulations, and the science behind our products. Our fusion of Ayurveda and Aromatherapy offers benefits that synthetic products cannot replicate—such as dosha balancing, stress relief, and deep tissue rejuvenation.” Purity is non-negotiable at Regoras. The brand follows strict guidelines: “No synthetic preservatives, parabens, sulfates, or artificial fragrances. Only cold-pressed and steam-distilled extracts, therapeutic-grade essential oils for fragrance, and absolutely no fillers or artificial colorants.” Aromatherapy plays a central role in their formulations, tailored for each skin type and dosha. For dry and aging skin (Vata), essential oils like frankincense and rose offer deep nourishment. Pitta skin benefits from calming chamomile and vetiver, while Kapha skin is balanced with tea tree and neem. “Customers can take a dosha-based skin analysis for personalised recommendations,” she notes. At the heart of it lies the mission to bridge long-term wellness with today’s demand for instant results. “We balance immediate benefits with long-term skin transformation. Bioactive botanicals like saffron and aloe vera offer an instant glow, while our modern formulation techniques ensure deeper absorption.”

Ultimately, Maiti believes the key to radiant skin lies in listening to it. “One common skincare mistake people make is using products that don’t align with their dosha. Ayurveda teaches us to understand our skin’s changing needs and nourish it accordingly. That’s what brings true, lasting harmony.”
