Modi will lay stone for relaunch of the Amaravati capital city construction project

In preparation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Amaravati, a review meeting was conducted on Saturday at the public meeting venue being set up behind the State Secretariat. The PM will formally restart the long-awaited capital city construction works on May 2.
G Veerapandian, the nodal officer overseeing the Prime Minister’s visit, held a coordination meeting with other nodal officers and officials responsible for the event arrangements. He instructed all task-assigned officers to expedite their work to ensure that all arrangements are completed on time.
According to the tentative schedule, Prime Minister Modi is expected to arrive at Gannavaram Airport by 3 PM on May 2. From there, he will fly by helicopter to the State Secretariat and then proceed via a 1.4-km roadshow to the event venue located behind the Secretariat. At the event, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the re-initiation of the Amaravati capital city construction project, which is estimated to cost nearly `1 lakh crore. He will also inaugurate various other development works.
After the event, the Prime Minister is scheduled to depart from the venue by helicopter at 5 PM, return to Gannavaram Airport and head back to New Delhi.
Officials revealed that eight different routes are being prepared for the arrival of people and dignitaries from various regions, while nine designated parking areas are being arranged with essential facilities like drinking water, food and restrooms.
Veerapandian stressed the importance of completing all arrangements swiftly and issued specific directives to the nodal officers. A rehearsal is scheduled for April 30, followed by SPG rehearsals.
He also stated that food would be provided to all attendees of the Prime Minister’s meeting and enough counters should be set up at each parking zone to ensure smooth distribution.
Additional DGP Madhusudhan Reddy, who attended the meeting, said that over 100 VIPs, around 15 MIPs and nearly 5,000 VVIPs are expected to attend the event. He recommended organising continuous microphone announcements at the parking zones to assist visitors.
Guntur District Collector Nagalakshmi requested that all departments submit duty pass lists immediately to facilitate coordination.
The meeting was also attended by IG Srikant, Guntur Range IG Sarvasreshta Tripathi, CM Trivikram Varma, several senior police officials, and IAS and IPS officers assigned as nodal officers for the event.
