Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said the Congress Government has launched a lot of social welfare schemes and development projects, and there is still a lot to be done.
The CM invited all delegates attending the Bharat Summit-2025 to join the Congress’s mission to bring about a change in the lives of people.
He appealed to all delegates to share their knowledge with the Telangana Government and become brand ambassadors of ‘Telangana Rising.’
Addressing the Bharat Summit–2025 held at the HICC Novotel Hotel on Saturday, the CM said that he is proud that he got an opportunity to address the summit.
“Telangana is endowed with a rich history and a unique culture. The people of Telangana, which was part of United Andhra Pradesh, struggled for a separate state for many decades. Students, trade unions, farmers and women actively participated and led the Telangana Movement.
Their struggle yielded results, and the state of Telangana was formed,” he said.
Unfortunately, the hopes of the people were not fulfilled during the last 10 years in Telangana. People gave a mandate to the Congress, and it is now trying to fulfil the aspirations of all sections like students, youth, farmers, women and the oppressed castes, the CM said.
The CM said the TG government introduced the biggest social welfare schemes in the history of India.
“The TG government waived farm loans amounting to Rs 20,617 crore of 25.50 lakh farmers on August 15, 2024. We are providing 24-hour free electricity to farmers. An input subsidy of Rs 12,000 is being given per acre as per the Rythu Bharosa scheme every year. Landless farm labourers are getting Rs 12,000 a year. The government is providing a financial assistance of Rs 20,000 crore to landless and land-owning farmers every year. Apart from the Minimum Support Price (MSP), the government is also providing a bonus of Rs 500 per quintal to farmers who cultivate fine paddy varieties. Rythu Bhima and crop insurance are also being given to farmers,” the CM said.
“We started the Young India Skills University to develop the skills of the unemployed and recruited 60,000 people into government service. We also launched Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Yojana to provide assistance to five lakh youth,” the CM said.
The CM said that three Congress PMs, Rajiv Gandhi, PV Narasimha Rao and Dr Manmohan Singh, focused on modernisation, development, telecom and software. India is now the fifth largest economy due to their ‘efforts,’ he said.
The CM said the TG government accorded top priority to education, healthcare, and employment generation. “The state’s delegation attended investment conferences in Davos, the US, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore, and we secured investments of Rs 2.5 lakh crore,” he said.
Women, farmers, and youth are the main partners of our government. Telangana has many women entrepreneurs. Some women formed self-help groups with 67 lakh members. Our goal is to promote one crore women as millionaires. Women’s groups are establishing solar power plants and operating electric TGSRTC buses and petrol pumps in the state, the CM said.
The CM said that the state power distribution companies signed agreements with women SHGs for purchase 1,000 MW of solar power. Women are operating 600 buses and competing with corporate transport agencies, he said.
The government is spending Rs 22,000 crore to construct Indiramma houses for 4.50 lakh families. The free RTC bus travel scheme for women has been launched, and the government has already spent Rs 5,000 crore in 15 months for the scheme.
The government gave top priority to healthcare and has provided free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh for the poor through Rajiv Arogyasri. An aid of Rs 1,000 crore has already been provided through CMRF this year, he said.
The CM said that the government is planning to free Hyderabad from pollution by reviving the Musi River. Musi will become a major tourist spot, and the Musi Project will also employ thousands, he said.
The government is developing the world-class Future City on 30,000 acres, constructing the 370-km Regional Ring Road and expanding Metro Rail, he said.
