The TG Government has to concentrate on land acquisition for constructing pending roads, the Union Minister of Road Transport and NHs, Nitin Gadkari, said.
He said that work on the Uppal Elevated Corridor is not being done properly, and so the contractor was changed to speed up work. He made it clear that they will complete the Uppal Flyover works within 10 months.
Addressing a meeting at Amberpet on Monday after opening Amberpet and BHEL flyovers, he said the Pharma industry is also a big one in Hyderabad, apart from the IT sector. People come to Hyderabad from various cities, he said.
“We developed NHS connecting Hyderabad to all major cities. We are committed to the development of Telangana under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. We completed the Indore-Hyderabad road in Telangana. We will complete the work in Maharashtra soon. The 20-hour travel time will be reduced to just 10 hours if this corridor is completed. We will ensure that work on the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road is completed soon. We will transform the Hyderabad-Vijayawada four-lane road into a 6-lane road,” Gadkari said.
“We introduced a double-decker bus in Nagpur. I am appealing to Telangana ministers to run the bus on the Hyderabad ring road.
The government has to reduce the use of diesel and petrol vehicles and encourage the use of CNG and electricity. I am also requesting farmers to use environmentally friendly vehicles in agriculture. The nation cannot develop with only smart cities. There is a need for smart villages too,” he said.
Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy said that one can see national highways in every village due to the hard work of Nitin Gadkari resulting in a reduction of road accidents and deaths.
Indian roads are far better than American roads. Nitin Gadkari will give assurances to any party MP. People used to call Gadkari as ‘Flyovers Minister.’ Work on the service road is incomplete although we opened the Amberpet flyover. The service road can be done if land acquisition is completed in 6 places.
Telangana ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Ponnam Prabhakar have to complete the land acquisition process.
