Mayor Kavati Manohar Naidu, MLCs L Appireddy and Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad paid tributes to former MLA and Congress leader Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga Rao on his 34 death anniversary.
They garlanded the life-size state statue of VM Ranga at 3 Bommala centre at Nagarampalem here on Monday. Addressing the gathering MLC Appireddy recalled that VM Ranga was in politics for a short time but he earned enormous love from the people and found a permanent place in the hearts of masses. Even after 34 years of his death, the people still admire him, he said. Ranga rose as a popular leader in a short time. “Ranga does not belong to a particular caste or a group but he belongs to all,” he added. The mayor said that VM Ranga was brutally murdered when the TDP was ruling the state.
Deputy mayor Sheik Sajila, Corporators Sadu Umamaheshwari, YSRCP state joint secretary Gulam Rasul and other leaders were present.
