Andhra Pradesh is continuing to make rapid strides in industrial growth, emerging as a preferred destination for investors from both within the country and abroad. In a major boost to the State’s economy, the sixth meeting of the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the State Secretariat on Thursday, approved 19 new industrial projects worth Rs 33,720 crore. These projects are expected to generate 34,621 employment opportunities across sectors such as energy, tourism, IT, electronics, and manufacturing.
The Chief Minister attributed this investment momentum to the NDA government’s investor-friendly policies, stating that Andhra Pradesh is firmly positioning itself as a hub for industrial innovation, sustainable development, and job creation. “With strategic sectoral focus and timely project execution, the State is laying a strong foundation for long-term economic growth,” he said.
Since the formation of the current government, the SIPB has met six times in 11 months and approved 76 projects with a cumulative investment of Rs 4,95,796 crore.
These projects are expected to create direct employment for over 4.5 lakh people across the State.
To ensure timely implementation and transparency, the Chief Minister directed officials to monitor all projects through a dedicated real-time dashboard. This system will track progress from MoU signing to final commissioning, including updates on employment generation and project milestones.
Highlighting tourism as a key economic driver, Mr Naidu emphasised the need to develop 50,000 hotel rooms to accommodate rising tourist inflows. He proposed initiatives such as eco-tourism, tent accommodations, enhanced amenities near temples, and spiritual tourism along riverfronts.
In line with Sustainable Development Goals, the Chief Minister also stressed the importance of promoting a circular economy. He urged industries to adopt innovative solutions for managing agricultural waste by setting up small-scale conversion plants instead of resorting to stubble burning.
Spread across multiple districts, these projects are poised to catalyse balanced regional development and significantly elevate Andhra Pradesh’s economic profile. With a clear governance roadmap and proactive leadership, the State is on course to become one of India’s top industrial destinations.
