A seemingly private visit has sent ripples through Telangana political observers as BRS Working President KT Rama Rao met BRS MLA Harish Rao at his residence in Kokapet. The two spent nearly two hours discussing political developments, fuelling speculation of a strategic reset within the BRS.
Sources said this is not the first time they have met and that it has become a regular thing these days. “Now that their houses are a stone’s throw away, ‘casual catch-ups’ are becoming routine,” sources said.
Harish’s father had recently returned home after a prolonged illness, and KTR visited him earlier for about 1.5 hours. However, the timing of this meeting, amid internal rumblings, social media campaigns, and a surge in talk of leadership transition, has caught political observers’ attention.
According to reports, both leaders discussed BRS’s future course, internal unity, and misinformation campaigns. The meeting gains weight as Harish publicly said he stands by KCR’s decisions and would support KTR’s elevation if entrusted with the party leadership.
Adding another layer to the political drama is BRS MLC Kavitha, who left for the US for her son’s graduation ceremony. Kavitha, too, has stirred controversy with her blunt remarks about internal sabotage within the BRS. She said that a deliberate conspiracy is on to malign her and vowed to reveal names “when the time comes.”
She requested the party to act against those who spread lies targeting her and warned that if offended, her response would be sharper. Developments like KTR and Harish’s closed-door meeting, Kavitha’s fiery outburst, and the growing talk of a power shift, have triggered intense speculation about the tug-of-war within the KCR family and the BRS.
