Must read

The highly anticipated collaboration between superstar Suriya and director Venky Atluri has officially kicked off with a grand pooja ceremony in Hyderabad, setting the tone for what promises to be a landmark bilingual project in both Tamil and Telugu cinema. Titled tentatively as #Suriya46, the film marks the 33rd production under the banner of Sithara Entertainments and will be simultaneously released in Tamil and Telugu.

Director Venky Atluri, who has been on a winning streak with acclaimed hits like Sir/Vaathi and the latest announced Lucky Baskhar, is now gearing up for another emotionally engaging yet commercially viable film. Known for his storytelling finesse and knack for striking a balance between mass appeal and meaningful narratives, Atluri’s pairing with Suriya, one of Indian cinema’s most versatile stars, has raised expectations across the board.

Though primarily a Tamil superstar, Suriya has long enjoyed immense popularity among Telugu audiences—thanks to films like Ghajini, which established his box office appeal in the region. With Suriya46, the actor returns to a true bilingual format, ensuring a seamless viewing experience for fans across both language markets. This project, his 46th film, further extends his journey of taking up layered and diverse roles.

The film also features some impressive casting choices. Mamitha Baiju, who shot to fame with Premalu, has been roped in as the female lead. Making a much-awaited comeback to Telugu cinema is Raveena Tandon, while veteran actress Radhika Sarathkumar takes on a pivotal role. Reuniting with Venky Atluri for the musical score is GV Prakash Kumar, whose previous collaborations with the director (Vaathi/Sir, Lucky Baskhar) delivered notable soundtracks. Joining the technical team are Nimish Ravi as Director of Photography, Navin Nooli, a National Award-winning editor and Banglan for production design.

The film is being produced by S. Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, with Srikara Studios presenting it. Known for their commitment to quality and their knack for backing strong scripts, the producers have put together a crew of industry heavyweights to ensure a top-notch cinematic experience.

The film is set to go on floors by the end of May 2025, with a Summer 2026 release on the cards. From its powerful cast and crew to the vision behind its storytelling, #Suriya46 is shaping up to be one of the most awaited films of the coming year.
