Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Friday reaffirmed his government’s commitment to the development of the erstwhile Medak district by announcing a series of welfare and infrastructure projects during a public meeting in Zaheerabad.
Invoking Indira Gandhi’s emotional connection with the region to lay out his roadmap for industrial growth, the CM said the state will work along with the Centre for Medak’s development.
“Politics is only during elections. We will seek cooperation from the Centre and will meet Modi not just once but even 50 times. We will bring funds and projects. Only when there is cooperation between the state and Centre will the state progress,” he said.
“Whenever we hear the name Medak, we remember Indiramma,” Revanth said, recalling how Indira Gandhi served as the MP of Medak until her last breath.
He said it was only fitting that the current government had decided to sanction 5,612 Indiramma houses for families displaced by the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ).
“We are giving Jagga Reddy the responsibility of handing over the pattas along with meals to these families,” he declared.
Revanth also revealed that Hyundai would soon begin operations in the region, signalling the government’s push for industrial expansion.
“We have accelerated land acquisition and raised compensation for NIMZ evacuees, correcting the delays caused during the previous regime,” he said.
Touching on Narayankhed, he acknowledged the demands for funds and described Suresh Shetkar and Sanjeeva Reddy as the two eyes of the constituency.
“We will allocate funds for Narayankhed too. The government will take forward the development of the entire Medak region with renewed focus,” he promised.
On the welfare front, the Chief Minister reiterated the key schemes of his administration. “We have waived farm loans, raised Rythu Bharosa to Rs 12,000, and are extending it even to the landless poor,” he said.
He added that the government was providing 200 units of free electricity, subsidised cooking gas cylinders for Rs 500, and free travel for women in TGSRTC buses.
“We are providing buses to self-help groups and training young women to make one crore women lakhpatis in five years,” he said.
He also slammed the BRS government for failing to deliver on job promises. “They said one job per household, but gave jobs only to their families. We have started recruitment for vacancies in government services from day one,” he said.
Revanth asserted that his government is open to constructive criticism and willing to course correct.
“I urge the Leader of the Opposition to come to the Assembly. Raise issues, give suggestions. Don’t wait to return to power to show up,” he said, warning that people will not tolerate arrogance.
Asserting that he continues to remain accessible even after becoming Chief Minister, Revanth said, “There is no pride in this chair for me. I have no rest until I dedicate this state’s development to its people.”
