Police have registered cases under Section 302 of the IPC against YSRCP leader and former MLA Pinneli Ramakrishna Reddy, and his younger brother Venkatrami Reddy, in connection with the murder of two TDP leaders.

It may be recalled that TDP activists and siblings, Javishetti Venkateswara Rao and Koteswara Rao, were killed when a Scorpio vehicle rammed into their motorcycle at Bodalla Veedu village in Veldurthi mandal on Saturday evening. Initially, the incident was suspected to be an accident, but police later registered it as a murder case.

An FIR has been filed against seven individuals — Javishetti Sreenu (Accused 1), Thota Venkat Rao (Accused 2), Thota Guravaiah (Accused 3), Nagaraju (Accused 4), Thota Venkateswarlu (Accused 5), Pinneli Ramakrishna Reddy (Accused 6), and Pinneli Venkatrami Reddy (Accused 7).
Police sources said that four of the accused have already been arrested.

TDP senior leader and MLA Julakanti Brahma Reddy alleged that the murders were carried out at the behest of the Pinneli brothers.

According to family members, the slain siblings had attended a wedding in Huzurabad, Telangana, and were returning to their village on a motorcycle when a Scorpio vehicle hit them from behind and dragged the bike for some distance. The assailants then got out of the vehicle, found the brothers still alive, and fatally crushed their heads with a boulder before fleeing the scene, abandoning the vehicle.

The brutal killings have sparked political outrage and unrest in Palnadu district.

Meanwhile, TDP State president Palla Srinivasa Rao strongly condemned the murders. Addressing party leaders and activists in Kadapa while reviewing arrangements for the Mahanadu annual event on Sunday, he vowed that the culprits would face strict punishment. He also alleged that the YSRCP was promoting factional violence in the region.
