YSRCP leader and former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy was on Sunday night arrested and produced before the Venkatagiri court on Monday, which remanded him to 14 days in judicial custody. Following his arrest, he was brought to Nellore under tight security. From the Police Training College, he was taken to the court with a heavy police presence and presented before the magistrate.

Several YSRCP leaders, including former Minister Anil Kumar Yadav, Anam Vijay Kumar Reddy, and former MLA Sanjeevaiah, attempted to meet Govardhan Reddy at the court but were denied access.
Earlier in the day, party leaders such as Tirupati MP Gurumurthy, Nedurumalli Ram Kumar Reddy, MLC Parvatareddy Chandrasekhar Reddy, and Meriga Murali, along with their supporters, tried to enter the court premises. However, the police blocked them, citing the enforcement of Section 144 in the area.
