Meets Chief Secretaries via video conferencing; reviews progress of national projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has directed that all complaints received under the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) be resolved to the full satisfaction of complainants. He said that a formal letter of satisfaction must be obtained after resolution.
The Prime Minister also stressed the need to bring all real estate layouts and structures under the ambit of RERA to ensure fairness and protection for buyers.
Chairing a video conference with Chief Secretaries of all States on Wednesday, PM Modi reviewed the progress of various national projects. He asserted that RERA is not only a regulatory mechanism, but also plays a pivotal role in fostering real estate growth. The Prime Minister underlined the importance of strict implementation of the RERA Act and called for transparency and good governance in real estate operations.
The PM also urged all States to work toward strengthening the semiconductor ecosystem, noting that a robust framework would drive innovation and development across sectors. In reviewing infrastructure development, he pointed to the Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata NH-319B highway and urged State administrations in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal to expedite project execution to avoid cost escalations.
In addition, the Prime Minister reviewed the progress of key national projects including the Mahi Banswara Atomic Power Project in Rajasthan and the Integrated Anandapur Barrage Project in Odisha. He instructed that bottlenecks in construction must be resolved quickly. To support India’s goal of establishing over 100 nuclear power plants, he also announced plans to introduce specialised nuclear construction courses in ITIs.
From Andhra Pradesh, Chief Secretary K Vijayanand, Special Chief Secretary for Health MT Krishnababu, Principal Secretary for Municipal Administration Suresh Kumar and Secretary of ITE&C Katamneni Bhaskar attended the review meeting along with senior officials.
